Some guests choose to cozy up inside their tents, but you’re free to sleep under the stars in nice weather.ĭAY 2: After a tasty hot breakfast, you’ll push off to enjoy the splashy rapids and magnificent scenery of the Fisher Towers section of the Colorado River. After dinner, our talented guides may entertain you with campfire guitar songs or start a rousing game like Capture the Flag. ![]() You’re welcome to take a little hike or participate in other group activities as the guides cook up a hearty dinner. Swimming breaks, splashy water fights, and relaxing under the sun will take up the rest of the day as you float toward camp. After an orientation on river safety, you’ll push off into the flowing water and get underway. You’ll find a refreshing cold cut sandwich lunch waiting when you arrive at the launch site. The trip begins with a beautiful 60-min drive along the Upper Colorado River Scenic Byway, a stretch of highway famous for its breathtaking views of sandstone cliffs, desert valleys, and lush river bottoms. Once you are checked in and your car is secure, we recommend you leave your car keys behind in our office so they don’t take a swim if you do. Sleeping bags, tents, and other personal items you don’t need on the river will be packed into a large trailer that will meet you in camp.
